At Killara Public School we value punctuality and responsibility in our students. A teacher is on playground duty from 8.45am. If you need to drop your child at school before this time please make arrangements with our before school care Killara Kids.
Our school hours are 9.15am to 3.15pm.
All students need to wear a school hat during recess and lunch.
School Office hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm during school term. The office is closed during school and public holidays.
Morning Routine
When you bring your child to school, please take your child to their classroom to put away their bag and then leave your child under the shade cloth until the playground bell goes for class.
The school grounds are not supervised before 8:45am each day. We request that you do not send children to school before this time for safety reasons.
Change in Routine
Children are not permitted to leave the school premises during school hours unless the school is informed by a parent. If you wish to take your child out of school, or contact them during the day, please call at the office to sign them out before going to the classroom. If your child arrives late to school then the parent/carer must come to the office to sign the child in. This is necessary to ensure your child's safety and to avoid unnecessary disruptions to the classroom routine.
Staff Development Days
The first two days of Term 1, the first day of Terms 2 and 3 and the last day of Term 4 are set aside for teacher professional learning and essential school planning. Children remain at home on these days. In Term 4 only, the children start the term on Monday.
